SERMONS

be-a-disciple-web

My new sermon series is coming up. Hey, let’s talk about discipleship. When Jesus was on earth, he never called his followers, Christian or church members, he always referred to his followers as disciples.  Jesus was the master disciple maker and in his last words in Matthew 28 he said, “Go and make disciples”. The church has done a great job in making members but a poor job in making disciples because discipleship requires us to be disciples ourselves.

Sadly, millions of Christians grow older but never grow up.  They are stuck in perpetual spiritual infancy, remaining in diapers and booties. The reason is because they never intended to grow.  Spiritual growth is not automatic. It takes an intentional commitment. You must want to grow, decide to grow, make an effort to grow, and persist in growing. When a person decides to grow and get disciplined, they become a true disciple of Christ. This Sunday we begin the new Spring sermon series entitled, “Be A Disciple, Make Some Disciples, Push Repeat” with part 1 “From Believing to Becoming”. Discipleship is the process of becoming like Christ and it always begins with a decision. Let’s learn how to become one, make some, and push repeat.
